Following the release of the 2022 album Shifting Signals, Terence Fixmer unveils a hypnotic new version of the lead single, ‘Corne de Brume’, exclusively on Bandcamp.
Shifting Signals marked Fixmer’s debut on Mute and was inspired by a formative childhood viewing of Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror classic, ‘Alien.’
‘Corne de Brume’ (meaning ‘foghorn’) was designed to evoke a ship’s foghorn, setting a moody and uncompromising tone with ear-piercing synth-work that slices through the foggy noise. This single led the album, which swoops, dips, and scales the heights of white-knuckle adventure, exploring concepts of unknowable space that extend to the vast and mysterious natural world in our more immediate orbit.
