About The DJ
Ronny Krieger’s passion and curiosity for art and creativity has been the driving force behind what he does, and for over 30 years now he’s been a staple in the music, tech and creative industries. After starting his career in banking and corporate lending, he followed his true passion for music as an artist, DJ and producer for many years.
In his teenage years he was a member of a synth pop band.
Ronny is a member of the vut board (the German independent music association) and a member of the expert committee for “Digitalisation and AI” at the German Cultural Council.
Previously, Ronny was a freelance consultant and advisor for companies like FatDrop, DJBroadcast, Shutterstock, Digitally Imported, Skoove, LANDR, Native Instruments, worked with artists like Modeselektor and Moderat, served as the VP and CPO of Beatport, GM of Patreon Europe and SVP Global Physical Sales at BMG.
He About His Mix
In a landscape saturated with breakneck speeds and nostalgia-laden beats of hard techno, hardcore, psy-tec or whatever people might call it, I sought to offer a compelling reminder that techno’s power transcends tempo. Setting the dial to an unusually slow 111 BPM – a deliberate departure from the frenetic pace – I delved into the depths of electronic music’s history, drawing parallels to the brooding pulse of EBM and the enigmatic allure of classic 80s electronics.
Embracing the shadows cast by slower tempos, I crafted a mix that exudes raw might and unyielding darkness. While I no longer frequent the DJ booth, having been absent for over two decades, this mix isn’t about technical perfection; it’s about weaving together a tapestry of sonic exploration. Expect the unexpected as I blend tracks from different eras, from fleeting nods to electronic pioneers to full-bodied techno spanning decades.
This isn’t your typical techno fare; I deliberately eschewed the current hits in favor of introducing listeners to new sonic territories. So sit back, immerse yourself in the unknown, and discover a multitude of artists for the first time. Enjoy!
